1. Is Stanford Academy a registered secondary school? Yes, Stanford Academy is an accredited Ontario secondary School (BSID: 884819).
2. What is Ontario’s education system? Ontario’s education system includes six years of primary school, two years of  middle school, and four years of  high school. An OSSD is granted to students who earn a minimum of 30 credits and pass the Ontario Secondary School Literacy Test (OSSLT), and complete 40 hours of community service. Students can enroll at any university in Canada through our six university preparation course credits. 3. What are the Admission Requirements? Students must be attending middle school or high school or have graduated from high school. 4. Are courses taken in my home country accepted? Most courses taken and passed during junior and senior high school are accepted up to a total of 24 credits. 5. How to transfer credits from schools in my home country? The completion of Grade 9/Junior Middle 3 is equivalent to the completion of the first 8 out of 30 credits for high school. 24 more credits are needed to graduate. The completion of Grade 10/Senior Middle 1 is equivalent to the completion of the first 16 out of 30 credits for high school. 16 more credits are needed to graduate. The completion of Grade 11/Senior Middle 2 or Senior Middle 3 vocational is equivalent to the completion of the first 22 out of 30 credits for high School. Students in this case need to obtain 10 more credits. The completion of Grade 11 with SSD/GCE’O'/SPM/CXC is equivalent to the completion of the first 24 out of 30 credits for high school. Students need to obtain 6 more credits to graduate. 6. What is the English requirement for students to be able to take university preparatory courses? All international students take an English proficiency test and are slotted into the appropriate level according to the test results On average, Senior 3 students from their home country will take 8 to 18 months to finish all the academic and language courses. 7. How to choose courses? Student’s personal interests and personal choices for programs in a future university will help to determine the appropriate courses that need to be taken. Stanford offers courses including English, mathematics, physics, chemistry, architecture, computer science, business, social sciences, etc. Please contact our admission department for more details. 8. How is the level of English as a Second Language courses determined? Every student is required to take an English and mathematics proficiency test (based on EQAO). Students will be placed in an appropriate level of ESL or Mathematics based on test results. 9. Does Stanford have courses related to the IELTS exam? We offer professional training and services for IELTS examinations as an optional program at additional cost. 10. On average, how long will it take a student to finish the high school program and enroll in university? It depends on the student’s English level and the completion grade in their home country. For students who have a good English foundation, it requires 6-8 months. New grade 12 students will finish their classes within eight months to a year and half. 11. Starting points in the academic year. There are 6 different semesters, including: January, March, May, July, September and November. 12. What is Stanford’s tuition fee? Please visit ”Fee Details” under ”Admissions”. 13. As a student at Stanford what kind of extra services will be provided? Advice in the selection of academic programs for university. Advice on accommodations and meal plans. Visa and passport renewal service. Health insurance choices are provided. Ticket booking, airport pick-up, and other pertinent services are provided. 14. Once a student makes the decision to study at Stanford, how long do we need to prepare in advance, and how long does it take? Document Preparation before the visa application needs approximately 4-8weeks. After delivering the documents, the processing may take 4-8 weeks. 15. What do I need to apply for my study permit? The original acceptance letter from Stanford. A valid passport. Proof that there is enough money to pay for tuition and living costs for you and any family members coming to Canada. To satisfy an immigration officer that you will leave Canada when you have completed your studies. You must be in good health and willing to complete a medical examination, if necessary. A personal interview with the visa officer may be required; If you are applying for a study permit to study less than six months, you should include a letter that explains why you are applying. The letter will inform the visa officer that you understand your options. A processing fee.

Generally, a week before the start of the semester is the best time to report. 17. If the visa application is denied by the embassy, can I get my tuition fees refunded? Yes, you would get full refund of your tuition fee upon receipt of a visa rejection letter; however, the third party fee and application fee is non-refundable. 18. Once students get their visa, what do we do. If you need the school to arrange pick-up, please inform us of your arrival date, 3 business days in advance. Once we are notified by you of your success in getting a visa, please call the school. 19. Where will I live when I arrive? Upon notification of your arrival time and flight Stanford will arrange for your residence to be ready for you 20. How to apply for a re-entry visa & renew my study permit? Stanford’s visa department will help you with all necessary forms including banking transfer arrangements, visa renewals, acceptance and confirmation letters, and will arrange for delivery to the appropriate visa office.
