Unit 1: Fundamental Business Concepts

Students will demonstrate the economic basics and understanding of the various types of businesses and how they respond to the needs, wants, supply, and demands of the world. Students will learn about ethics and ethical responsibility from a personal, business, andinternational perspective.

Describe the production, management, humanresources, and accounting roles within a business. Analyze the means by which businesses profit and maintain their success through production, management styles, employability, and profit.

Students will explain why marketing, information & communication technology, and entrepreneurship are all important aspects of a successful business. Students will also learn about the 4P’s (Product, Place, Price, Promotion) and how they play an important role in selling a service or product and how to use technology at various levels of businesses.

Unit 4: Finance

Students will compare the benefits and risks that come with investing, choice of banks, and taking on credit. Theywill also explain the best methods to spend, save, and income manage their money. Finally, students will create a personal plan that includes a balance sheet of expenses and income for short, medium, and long term.
